Age of Heroes: Titular Kingdom of Arya chapter 1

I always love fantasy, and whenever I read or play something that takes place in a fantasy world, I always want to make a world of my own. I never get around to it because it requires careful world building and not something that can easily be tackled in one sitting/shortstoy. This is definitely an ambitious challenge for me, but this story, and its world, I have always imagined ever since I was in high school. I am glad to be finally able to put the imagination into words, even if it's just a single chapter for now. . Age of Heroes: Titular Kingdom of Arya Chapter 1 He woke up in the middle of the night, eyes still drowsy, yet his mind refused to sleep. Carried by soundless steps from his slippers, he walked down the hallway of the royal chambers where the royal family, his family, resided. On his left side were massive arch windows overlooking the town of Highhalls. The sculpted statue of Saint Justine stood majestically 100 meters tall at the center of the to...

Once His

This one I have written a long time ago, but in my mother tongue, Indonesian. I decided to translate it into English with some changes. Thankfully, since the setting itself is a Western-style school, I don't have to translate the cultural discrepancies or anything too complicated. I think this was my first time trying to write a thriller piece as well. Writing this, however, did make me realize how much I actually miss writing romance, strangely enough. Once His                For as long as he lived and breathed, never had he liked music enough to attend an opera. Don’t get him wrong, he loves music. But all his ears are familiar with were R&B, Hip-hop, Soul, and some other, more popular genres, never one of those posh classics, let alone attending an opera all by himself. That begs the question: can you even like something you've never heard? Well, yes. At least Brad liked it when that pers...

God's Blessing

This is actually something I wrote for an assignment in college. The original assignment had a word limit, but I decided to take a look back at it and edit it without the constraint of the limit. It is a fantasy, and I was trying to create a more folktale-ish vibe with it, and I think I did it well enough. God's Blessing It started on that faithful night, the King and Queen of Vachellia celebrated their son’s nam ing day. They invited every person in their kingdom to attend the celebration of their only child. The Queen had prepared everything , from decorations to meals, even the attire their servants wore. Acacia bloomed lovely in every vase on every table; lanterns were scattered and hung under the castle’s ceiling. It was as warm as the sun itself. The air was full of cheers and laughter when jesters and dance troupes enlivened the castle’s hall with their jokes and stage performances. Bards sang a tale specially written for the Prince; the words wer...

Your Name Engraved Herein Review (Movie)

Your Name Engraved Herein More Like Heroin image credit: IMDB Director: Kuang-Hui Liu Cast: Chen Hao-sen (Edward Chen), Tseng Jing-hua, Leon Dai, Fabio Grangeon A Review By T. M. Fazar Izzamuddin                 This is the first post of this blog, and I think, what a better way for me, an Indonesian raised and born, to start this blog than with a review of an LGBT film. This will surely be a good addition to my resume. “Why do you get into a fight for love?” the movie began with such a strong sentence. I wonder the same. Was it for the beauty of love between two men that this film perfectly presented? Was it for the heart-wrenching scenes that made you couldn’t help but reminisce about that one person you forever love? Was it to answer the question of God and his love that the protagonist trying to make sense of? Was it to soothe the pain and suffering that I felt through the characters in the film? ...

Review Section

Hello! Welcome to the Review Section! “What review?” You might ask. Well, anything that I want to write honestly. It could be films (movie or series), novels, video games, or even something else entirely.  This is my hobby blog that I just created for fun and to help me train my writing skills, so it could improve or at least isn’t deteriorating. How good am I at writing reviews? Well, I can’t really say, but I am an English Literature graduate, so you could be assured that I, at least, know some of what I am talking about. The format of the reviews would be very relaxed and laid back, so I could talk about everything I want about things I reviewed. This is, after all, just a hobby, and I think making it strictly formal and professional would make it too stressful and boring for me. However, that doesn’t mean my review would just consist of me rambling on and about, at least I hope not. I would still arrange my paragraphs in a cohesive structure to help you understand my point.
